Hypersomnia causes extreme daytime sleepiness, even after plenty of sleep.
Unlike normal tiredness, hypersomnia makes it nearly impossible to stay awake no matter how long you sleep. You might sleep 11+ hours a night and take multiple naps during the day, but never feel refreshed. This condition affects memory, focus, and daily functioning — and is often misdiagnosed as depression, chronic fatigue, or even insomnia. Getting the right diagnosis can finally bring clarity and relief.
If these sound familiar, it's worth talking to a sleep specialist.
Sleeping 11+ hours at night but still feeling exhausted
Long daytime naps that don't improve how you feel
Trouble waking up — even after multiple alarms
Mental fog, memory lapses, or slow thinking
Falling asleep unintentionally during conversations, work, or driving
When left undiagnosed, hypersomnia can affect every part of life.
Many people experience strained relationships, low work performance, depression, or even dangerous situations like drowsy driving accidents. A clear diagnosis and connection to the right specialists can help you avoid years of frustration and risk.
Our approach
Personalized care designed for your unique schedule.
1. Meet your sleep practitioner
A virtual visit where we review your complete medical and sleep history, assess your symptoms, and rule out more common causes like sleep apnea.
2. Coordinate advanced testing
If hypersomnia is suspected, we'll coordinate in-lab sleep testing with trusted sleep centers. We'll send our clinical notes to support your evaluation.
3. Build your treatment plan
Hypersomnia treatment typically requires specialized in-person management. We'll guide you to the right specialists.
Our team knows how to spot conditions like hypersomnia and guide you to the right next steps.
